HOW TO CREATE COMPONENTS?

To create components, click to open the components page. Click on the “Add New” button and start creating.


 

The details that are required when creating components are:

  • Title: the title of the component.
  • Name: the name of the component.
  • Display order: the component display order.
  • Content source type: This refers to the component's source type. You can select the desired source type from the drop-down list of available options, which include:
    • None
    • Direct static
    • Remote URL
    • Dynamic data
    • Script
  • Display icon: Choose the icon that you want to use for the component.
  • Display size: Select the desired display size from the drop-down list of available options.
  • Target module: Choose the module on which you want the component to be displayed from the drop-down list.
  • Visibility: Select the page on which you want the component to be shown. Currently, there are two-page types to choose from: static page and dynamic page.
    • Static page: If you choose to have the component displayed on a static page, a new field called the static page field will appear. You need to select the specific page where the component will be displayed.
    • Dynamic page: If you choose to have the component displayed on a dynamic page, a new field called the dynamic page field will appear. You need to select the specific page where the component will be displayed.
  • Content source: add the component description content.

Once all the details have been added, click on the “Submit” button to save.

The back navigation button is for the admin to be able to navigate back to the module or section main page.


All created components are displayed on the “Components” main page. The data columns available on this page consist of:

  • Name: the name of the component
  • Title: the title of the component
  • Display order: the display order of the component
  • Source type: the component’s source type.
  • Target page: the target page where the component is displayed on the member portal.

Every component record has an action button. Per component record, you can carry out the following:

    • View: you have the option to view the component in summary.
    • Edit: you have the option to update the component details.
    • Remove: you can delete the component by clicking on the “Remove” button.
    • Set access by group: you can set access to the component by member group. When setting access by group, you have the option to select the groups one at a time and submit. Once set, you can always remove the group(s) by clicking on the “Remove” button. 


    • Set access by chapter: you can set access to the component by association chapter. When setting access by chapter, you have the option to select the chapters one at a time and submit. Once set, you can always remove the chapter(s) by clicking on the “Remove” button.

 

    • Set access by tag: you can set access to the component by member tag. When setting access by tag, you have the option to select the tags one at a time and submit. Once set, you can always remove the tag(s) by clicking on the “Remove” button.


    • Set access to all members: You can set access to the component for all members of the association.


    • Clear access rights: you can also clear all access rights, making the article accessible to all members. When clearing access rights, you will receive a pop-up indicating that all access rights entries have been successfully cleared.


You can always filter your search page when searching for specific components using the “search” section.

Once the component access has been set, it will appear on the members’ portal, and it will be only accessible to the members who have been granted access to it.
